BLACK-EYED PEA HUMMUS

A twist on classic hummus, with lucky Black-eyed peas in place of the chickpeas. This smoky black eyed pea hummus is a wonderful appetizer or snack that's gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan.

Black Eyed Peas are highly nutritious,  and just one cup of cooked black-eyed peas has 14 grams  helping to make you feel fuller for longer.

Ingredients

Canned Black Eyed Peas  Tahini Paste  Fresh Lemon Juice Extra Virgin Olive oil Garlic powder Onion powder

Step One

Drain and rinse black eyed peas under cold water reserving liquid.

Step Two

Place in food processor  (a bullet machine can work too).

Step Three

Add tahini paste, lemon juice, garlic & onion powder, water and olive oil.

Step Four

Blend together until creamy and smooth. add salt to taste.

Serve and Enjoy!

You can eat this hummus in sandwiches, wraps or pita bread. Or as a dip for veggies or even chips.
