How To Make the Easiest Crispy Tofu Ever
Quick, simple & delicious pan fried tofu in minutes. Just what we all need to get through our crazy busy days of homeschooling & non-stop zoom calls.
5 Ingredients, you can’t get any simpler than that, right.
- Olive Oil
- Everything But the Bagel Seasoning
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
We know a lot of folks aren’t sure about how to even cook tofu or if it will taste like anything. Tofu is a great plant based protein and is a sponge for good flavor.
Preparing Tofu To Pan Fry
A little secret (don’t tell anyone lol) we actually don't press the tofu when we cook it on the stovetop. This crispy pan fried tofu is also prepared with cornstarch.
We tried a lot of recipes and really almost gave up on the idea of quick and easy pan fried tofu. We definitely found recipes that produced crunchy tofu but most usually required cornstarch; and you needed to drain the tofu for 15 to 30 minutes which really isn’t a big deal until it is, right. This is a easy to prepare, easy fried tofu that will be your new easy breezy go to.
For us we like it crispy on the outside and moist on the inside
How To Cut The Tofu
Pour the water out of the package container and squeeze any excess off with the palm of our hands. We press out most of the water but nothing like when you use a tofu press which we use when preparing tofu for other methods. For us we like it crispy on the outside with a moist and tender interior.
With the tofu on the long side cut vertically down the middle.
Flip over and cut down the middle.
Cut each section on the diagonal. You will have 8 pieces of tofu.
On medium-high heat. Add olive oil to a medium-size skillet.
Season tofu. Season with Everything But The Bagel, Mushroom & Company seasoning , Garlic Powder and Onion Salt. (Can also substitute with your favorite seasoning)
Place the tofu in the pan for 5 minutes and leave it.
Flip and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Since the pan is hot we find the second side doesn’t need as much time.⠀⠀⠀

Easy To Make Crispy Fried Tofu
- 1 package Tofu - firm
- 4 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoons Everything But the Bagel Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- Prepare tofu by removing from package. Drain water. Press out excess and place aside.
- On medium-high heat. Add oil to a medium-size skillet.
- Season tofu. Season with Everything But The Bagel, Mushroom & Company seasoning , Garlic Powder and Onion Salt (Can substitute your favorite seasoning)
- Place the tofu in the pan for 5 minutes and leave it.
- Flip and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Since the pan is hot we find the second side doesn’t need as much time.⠀⠀⠀
- There you have it perfectly seasoned, tender moist tofu in under ten minutes
