Why Can’t Vegans Eat Chocolate?
That creamy sweetness we all remember eating our first bag of milk chocolates candy. Has traditionally been credited to dairy milk’s and sugar. Milk chocolate is a solid chocolate confectionery containing cocoa, sugar and milk hence not vegan friendly.
Is Milk Chocolate Healthy?
Dark chocolate offers anti-inflammatory effects, is a source of antioxidants. The types of flavanols present in dark chocolate have been shown to reduce risk factors associated with insulin resistance.
Unfortunately, milk chocolate doesn't pack the same antioxidant punch as dark chocolate. However, milk chocolate does contain good for you polyphenols.
Are Any Popular Chocolate Bar Vegan?
Yes, there are vegan milk chocolate products available. Hershey just introduced a vegan milk chocolate bar you can pick up at Publix and Kroger. And Nestle just launched a vegan KitKat bar too. Most dark chocolate bars sold in big box stores like Walmart and Target with no add-ins like caramel, malt or toffee are vegan friendly too.
