    Vegan Philly Cheesesteak Made With Beyond Meat

    Just 5 ingredients, one pan and ready in under 30 minutes. This vegan Philly cheesesteak recipe is so simple to make and delicious! Made with Beyond Beef, ooey gooey plant-based cheese, caramelized onions and sautéed bell peppers served on a toasted hoagie roll.

    Cheese - traditionally made with provolone cheese slices. We love using Miyoko’s Creamery liquid Mozzarella cheese and ease to melt Creamy Original Chao vegan cheese slices.

    Hoagie Rolls - Bfree and Schär are a good vegan brand or you could substitute vegan hot dog buns too.

    And of course Onions and Peppers

    Step By Step Instructions

    Step 1: Prepare rolls. Preheat oven 400 degree. On baking sheet place split rolls but (carefully not to separate them). Lightly butter the inside and place them, opened on baking sheet. Bake until toasted. 

    Step 2: Slice onion and bell peppers. 


    Step 3: In a large non-stick pan heat a teaspoon on olive oil on medium heat.

    Step 4: Sauté onions and bell peppers on medium low heat. Season with ¼ teaspoon salt and pepper.  Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions and peppers have softened and start to caramelize around the edges, about 10 minutes. Avoid browning the peppers and onions so if they do begin to brown, reduce the heat a bit. Cook until tender. 

    Add a teaspoon of oil to pan and add vegan beef substitute. Cook according to package instructions. For beyond tips cook for about 7 minutes with lid on pan; on medium low heat until brown. Season steak with salt and pepper.

    Section off servings and place cheese slices over each serving.

    Place onto lightly toasted hoagie roll and enjoy!

    How Do You Cook Beyond Steak?

    Cook according to package instructions. In skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. For this recipe we cooked for about 7 minutes with lid on pan; on medium low heat until brown.

    Storage

    Store - place any leftover cheesesteak filling in an air-tight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 package Beyond Beef steak substitute

    • ½ onion sliced thinly
    • 1 bell pepper sliced thinly
    • 4 vegan Hoagie rolls
