What Is Vegan Salmon Made Of?
Vegan salmon is a plant-based meat substitute to replace traditional salmon. Vegan salmon can be made from a large variety of ingredients, including konjac root by Boldy, pea protein, textured soy protein from Lilly's Vegan Pantry, and Oshi foods.
For Juicy Marbles plant-based fish filets, the main ingredients are mycoprotein and soy protein. Mycoprotein is a protein rich nutrient food made from fermented fungi.

Our Review
Juicy Marbles is collaborating with Revo Foods again; this time to create a plant-based Salmon. We previously reviewed their first collab with their kinda Cod, and now we've tried their second fish alternative.
Taste: The Juicy Marbles plant-based Salmon has an interesting flavor that's somewhere between Old Bay seasoning and Kombu kelp. It's not what I remember salmon tasting like but it has been a while and maybe for some people this will hit the spot. It's a little too peppery for our tastes and really overpowers the salmon flavor that they're trying to present.
Texture: It's firm and doesn't fall to pieces as you cut it, so it looks like it will be tough. But it's pretty flaky and moist once you eat it. Salmon is often baked with the skin on and the Juicy Marbles kinda Salmon has tried to mimic this texture as well, but it was more distracting to us than delicious.
It's been well over 20 years since Shadrick has eaten real salmon. But we both think the flavor of the salmon is overpowered from the seasoning they've put on it. Juicy Marbles is known for their plant-based meats that imitate beef and pork where the seasoning is absorbed by all of its layers. But fish is more delicate and requires a lot less seasoning. Interestingly, Revo Foods does sell an unseasoned version that we would love to try.

Recommendations
Bottom Line:
We would have preferred to season this ourselves instead of being hit with in our opinion such a heavy-handed season blend.
While we've enjoyed a good amount of store bought, homemade fish alternative recipes and restaurant made plant-based fish the Juicy Marbles kinda salmon doesn't make it to the top of our list of salmon alternatives we've enjoyed.
They're pricey for a weekly rotation, the taste and texture are not as satisfying as we hoped. We probably won't order again and will keep looking for a good salmon alternative that's a little more subtle on seasoning.
