What Is Yo Egg?
Yo Egg is a plant-based poached egg substitute. Yo Egg makes two options. A poached egg and a sunny-side up egg substitute. Not to be confused with vegan boiled eggs products like WunderEggs.
Founded in September 2021 by entrepreneur Eran Groner (CEO) and chef Yosefa Ben Cohen and backed by investors, read more at yo-egg.com
We first heard about this new product in VegNews and were excited. There are liquid egg products on the market like Just Egg and Simply Eggless, but none that mimic a poached egg with a runny yolk.
Of course we had questions; like would it really have that runny center poached eggs are known for? Could we finally make the real deal Eggs Benedict?

How To Cook Yo Eggs
Bring water to a boil. Lower the heat and place the vegan poached egg in simmering water for 10 minutes (if frozen) or 5 minutes (if chilled). Using a slotted spoon, gently remove from water. Hold it over the pot for a few seconds to let excess water drip off.
For optimal results, these should be boiled as they won't cook well in an air fryer.
Storing
Keep frozen until ready to cook.

Review
These eggs are very similar to what a poached chicken egg would look like but you can tell they came from a mold. It has a firm white, rounded top that gently yields before revealing a yellow yolk.
What Does Yo Egg taste like?
The egg white is pretty bland. The yolk is really where the flavor is and with the black salt (that’s included in the package) it’s as good as it gets.
What Is the texture of Yo Egg?
The texture is exactly like that of a poached egg. The runny golden yolk is a smooth velvety texture and makes a nice sauce. Combined the egg white and yolk; have the mouthfeel of a poached egg. It’s very realistic to that of a chicken egg.
Recommendation
The answer is absolutely we will buy these again. They have an eggy taste especially with the black salt and the runny yolk center is just want you expect.
