We first heard about Country Crock Plant Cream in VegNews as a new plant-based, non-dairy, heavy cream, substitute and we were intrigued.
We have been on the hunt for a good plant-based heavy cream and finally found this product at our local Kroger grocery store. We had so many questions. Does it go well in coffee like traditional creamer? Will it whip up like dairy-based heavy cream? Could we use it to make a non-dairy ice cream? and does it cook well in recipes like an Alfredo sauce.

FAQ’s
A creamy mouth feel with a smooth texture. A delicious and rich whipped cream. A great creamer in coffee. Note - it is unsweetened.
Yes, a 1:1 ratio in recipes.
Absolutely, it whips great. It doesn’t form firm peaks like a traditional dairy based whipped cream but it's really good for a dairy free version.
Yes, but only for a day or so. We stored it in a glass container in the refrigerator. It's best fresh and is very easy to make into whipped cream.

Review
This is a terrific vegan heavy cream. A great dairy-free replacer. Great in baking, as a plant-based cream for cooking and as a whipped cream. Only drawbacks - it doesn’t whip into really stiff peaks and the cap/spout on the top of the carton can give you a little trouble opening. Right now it’s hard to find; but hopefully that will change as it becomes more popular.

The carton I have says, " *Not a substitute for creamer in coffee."
Not sure why they would say that. Perhaps it's too high in calories? Makes no sense, but I'm not an expert. Especiall puzzling since a lot of folks recommend it as such.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We compared an older package with a newer one and see the new line. If you look at our image under ingredients (the original package, that line is not there). The ingredients are a little different too now. Looks like they added coconut and canola oils. The package still says its ok to cook, bake and whip. So really confused by that new line. We’ll reach out and see if we can get clarification on the new verbiage on the package and provide an update here.

I love this stuff. They actually stopped carrying it at my local grocery store and I make a trip to another one just for this. I have hated everything single vegan creams I’ve tried (silk, Califia) and have always soaked and blended cashews. I saw this and gave it a shot and I cannot tell it is vegan. It doesn’t have that icky after taste that the others have and I am obsessed. I’m no baker. I used this from creamy sauces. I made a vegan alfredo for a potluck and it was a hit! No one believed it was vegan.

Used this product now for topping potato galette, as a cream sauce for pasta and whipped cream for hot chocolate. It's amazing. It whips beautifully even by hand. You can't get to stiff peak stage but that's the only issue with it. It's a game changer for me.

I bought this at Walmart before Thanksgiving because they didn't have any whipping cream. We had it on pumpkin pie and it tasted great! I have a recipe that uses Dream Whip (which we can no longer eat because of sugar) and I think I can use this in it as the taste and texture reminded me of it. I also like the fact that it will keep longer than normal whipping cream. I will definitely buy it again.

I really love this. I compared it to Silk’s and it’s a lot better IMO. I just wonder why it says zero sugar (plus no added) but sugar is in the ingredient list?

This whipped up so nicely. I added splenda instead of sugar and used to stuff my my crepes. Love it!

Wow been looking for a vegan heavy cream. I hate buying stuff that I end up being disappointed with. Thanks for the review.
